Actor turned producer/director Julian Arahanga made his screen debut as an 11-year-old, starring alongside Annie Whittle in The Makutu on Mrs Jones. He shot to fame playing Nig Heke in landmark movie Once Were Warriors, then went on to star in a number of films including Broken English. Since setting up his own production company, Arahanga has produced acclaimed TV series and documentaries such as Songs from the Inside and Turangaarere: The John Pohe Story.
