Neo's dead body being transported to the Garbage Truck

The Garbage Truck was a Machine which carried the dead body of Neo away after he died in his fight against Smith.

Interpretation

• As the Garbage Truck floats away with Neo's body, and the tentacles that moved him arc back to beneath itself, the film cuts to a code view, with the arc of the tentacles leaving a blurred trail to form a lotus like shape.
• In The Philosopher's Commentary, Ken Wilbur describes this scene as depicting a "true returning to Source", saying that Neo does not come back to that world.
• The Machine's name is given in the Ultimate Matrix Collection's Zion Archive, but it is unclear if this is a unique Machine or, as the name may imply, a general purpose waste disposal Machine.
