The Matrix Wiki, is the largest encyclopedia covering the Matrix franchise. It is fan-written and freely editable using Wiki software hosted by Fandom. The Matrix Wiki was created in 2006, and has 1,618 articles created by almost 600 editors who have registered as of 2017 (plus many more who haven't) over a total of 53,871 edits.
Purpose[]
The Matrix Wiki strives to be the premiere source for information on all aspects of the Matrix universe. This includes information from the Matrix films and its "expanded universe" (the games, comics, etc.), as well as relevant information of value to fans. The Matrix Wiki was originally designed to be a branch of Wikipedia, but can expand on Matrix information in greater detail and with more freedom than Wikipedia.
As a fan-created encyclopedia, The Matrix Wiki is not intended to be a primary source, nor is it a replacement for any official source. Rather, it serves as a fan effort to summarize all aspects of the Matrix universe in the best way possible, while pointing the reader to the respective official sources.
History[]
The Matrix Wiki was started on June 23, 2006 by Ggctuk. A period of inactivity ensued for some time after it's creation until Spencerian, Dude984 and Ð٨ŘŦΗ ۍΆUŘΏŅ were installed as it's operators. Since late August 2006, membership and contributions to The Matrix Wiki have steadily increased to expand the current listings to include everything now available.
