The Vigilant was a Zion hovercraft.

When Zion's attack became imminent, the Council inquired of the fate of Morpheus and his ship, the Nebuchadnezzar, the Logos and the hovercraft Vigilant searched for the Neb.
When they were met, the crew of the Vigilant volunteered to help Morpheus assist the One to enter the Source. Their task was to disable a backup generator of the local nuclear plant.
Axel was with Jax on the console, when spotted approached Sentinels. Axel went to the rear to observe to see an incoming bomb thrown by the Sentinels. He went back to warn Jax but the catwalk fell on his way; he was killed by the fall and a spike impaled Jax.
Vigilant was destroyed by Sentinels before Soren, Vector and Binary could complete the mission, so Trinity went to finish the job.
